While Drano is great for getting rid of clogs, it also has a bunch of harmful chemicals! Here is an easy (and cost effective) way to clean your drains.
Ingredients:
3/4 Cup of Baking Soda
1/2 Cup of White Vinegar (others vinegars may work but this is the one I use)
If the sink has a stopper that will come out, remove it. This will make your job much easier! If it doesn't come out this will still work you just may have to break the process down in to 2 or 3 applications.
1. Pour baking soda in to the dry drain.
2. Pour vinegar into the drain and immediately cover with a drain stopper or rag, completely filling the hole. The reaction of the two will create a lot of foam that will spill out of the drain. You want to keep it down there so that it will push out the clog.
3. Allow to sit for 30 minutes.
4. After 30 minutes unplug the hole and pour hot water down the drain. You can boil water for this process or just use the regular hot tap water.
Not only will this unclog your drains but it will also deodorize them as well!!
